End to End Logistics Review. A Large European Electrical Retailer.

Working with the Supply Chain & Logistics team, Sigma led an full end to end logistics review of the European distribution process. The clients scoping document included, import routes & rates, DC operational practices, structure, flexibility and costs, business forecasting, transport operation and operational KPI reporting.

Following the initial 4-week review, we were able to identify operational opportunities to increase efficiency, remove waste and  highlight harvestable labour-saving potential. Following a presentation to the senior management team an implementation programme was signed off to focus on the delivery of the immediate benefits based around DC Operation, the forecasting of inbound & outbound volumes, and several other initiatives including, tendering of freight forwarder, introduction of new labour agency, revision of e-commerce carriers and a review of  existing transport rates.

The implementation plan was delivered with the full engagement and support of the supply chain team and included the development of a new “Supply Chain Dashboard” with KPI’s was incorporated into the business weekly Trading meetings increasing visibility of cost and service levels.
